Text to handwriting
Paste or type your text and it is written out by hand on lined paper, page after page, ready to print or save. Nothing is uploaded.
Up to 20,000 characters (about 3,000 words). Start a line with # and a space to write it larger, as a heading. Kept on this device only.

How to turn text into handwriting
- Paste or type your text. Up to 20,000 characters. A blank line leaves a blank ruled line; a line that starts with
#and a space is written larger, across two lines, as a heading. - Pick a hand. Neat print, joined cursive, quick note, rounded, marker or narrow. Hindi, Marathi or Nepali text gets the two Devanagari faces instead, Bangla or Assamese the two Bengali ones, with a choice of where the ruled line meets the headline.
- Set Messiness. At 0 every letter sits exactly on the line; higher values make letters vary like a real pen. Try another seed if one word comes out awkward.
- Choose ink and paper. Blue, black, dark blue, red or pencil; wide ruled, college ruled, grid, dotted or plain; A4 or Letter.
- Save or print. PDF puts every page in one file at true page size; ZIP gives one PNG per page; PNG saves the page you are looking at; Print sends all pages to your printer.
The paper, measured
Wide ruled lines are 11/32 inch apart (8.73 mm) and college ruled lines 9/32 inch (7.14 mm); the red margin line sits 1¼ inch (31.75 mm) from the left edge, as on US notebook paper. Grid and dotted pages use 5 mm squares, the common size for squared maths paper, and the writing sits on every second line so letters are not cramped. Letters stand on the line: the line height is the rule spacing, so at Messiness 0 every letter's baseline is exactly on a rule. On a normal-margin A4 page that is 29 written lines of wide ruling or 35 of college ruling, roughly 300 to 400 words a page in neat print.
Each page is drawn at 150 pixels per inch (an A4 PNG is 1240 × 1754 pixels), which prints sharp at full size; Devanagari and Bengali pages are drawn at 200 per inch (1654 × 2339), so the small vowel signs and conjuncts stay clear. The PDF holds the same pages at exactly A4 (595.28 × 841.89 points) or Letter (612 × 792 points); print it at 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page, if the line spacing must be exact.
What it cannot do
- It is a typeface, not your handwriting. Where a teacher, an exam or a form asks for your own handwriting, this is not that; write it yourself.
- Repeated letters still share one shape. Messiness changes size, tilt, height, spacing and ink, but every e starts from the same drawing, so a close look shows it is a font.
- No maths notation, tables or drawings. Fractions, equations, diagrams and underlines are not drawn; text is written as plain words on lines.
- Latin, Devanagari and Bengali scripts only. The six Latin faces cover English and most Western European letters; the Devanagari faces cover the letters of Hindi, Marathi and Nepali but not Vedic accents or the extra letters of Sindhi and similar languages; the Bengali faces cover Bangla and Assamese. Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, Tamil, Chinese and other scripts fall back to a plain system font, and a page that mixes Hindi with Bangla uses the faces of whichever has more letters.
- No bold, italics or alignment. Formatting pasted from a document is dropped; only line breaks and
#headings are kept. - Saved on this device only. Your text is kept in this browser's local storage until you tap Clear text; another browser or device will not have it.
Questions
Is this text to handwriting converter free, and do I need an app?
It is free, with no account and no app. It runs in the browser on a phone or a computer, and the pages are drawn on your own device.
Can I hand this in as a handwritten assignment?
Not where your own handwriting is asked for. This is a typeface with some wobble added, not your handwriting. Where a teacher, an exam or a form asks for something written by your hand, write it yourself. It suits mock-ups, props, cards, lesson materials and notes you want to look hand-written.
How do I make it look less like a font?
Raise Messiness. Each letter then gets its own small change of size, tilt and height, word gaps vary, lines drift slightly and the ink gets lighter and darker. The Seed picks one version of those changes, so the same text and seed always come out the same; Pencil ink and Faint paper texture help too.
What is the difference between wide ruled and college ruled?
The gap between lines: 11/32 inch (8.73 mm) for wide ruled, 9/32 inch (7.14 mm) for college ruled, so college ruled fits about 22% more lines on a page and suits smaller writing.
Can it write Hindi or Bangla in handwriting?
Yes. Type or paste Hindi, Marathi or Nepali and the page switches to two Devanagari faces, Kalam and Tillana; type Bangla or Assamese and it switches to two Bengali faces, Atma and Galada. The script is read from the letters themselves, so there is nothing to set. Your browser shapes the text, so conjuncts such as क्ष and त्र and vowel signs come out joined, and Messiness moves a whole letter cluster at a time so a vowel sign never drifts away from its consonant. Ruled line chooses whether the line runs through the headline (शिरोरेखा, মাত্রা) with the letters hanging from it, or sits under the letters; the line spacing stays the same. These pages are drawn at 200 pixels per inch (1654 × 2339 for A4), and the PDF holds that same drawing.
How do I print it at the right size?
Download the PDF and print at 100% or Actual size. Its pages are exactly A4 or Letter. Print on this page does the same from the browser, one sheet per page.
